The Vennel Steps in Edinburgh have offer a phenomenal view of Edinburgh Castle, one of the best in my humble opinion.  Walking up the steps you can also see one of few remaining parts of The Flodden Wall - a wall was built around the City of Edinburgh to protect it following the Battle of Flodden. It was completed in 1560.
