Cleopatra's Nightclub, or "Clatty Pat's" as it was known locally, was a well-loved west-end haunt throughout the eighties and nineties, opening in 1984 and eventually closing its doors in 2006. Frequented by everyone from students to office-workers in suits, it was a catch-all for the west of the city, scooping up those who had been drinking in the vicinity and were looking to continue the party, and maybe for a lumber. It had the classic sticky carpet, if I remember rightly, although I was only there once in the early noughties and like many others I don't remember much of it!

The beautiful 1930's art deco building in which it existed now runs as an Irish bar, having operated for a time as the 'Viper' following the closure of Cleopatra's.
